The South County Chronicle
Democratic candidate Andrew Hurst is challenging one of the most successful and popular members of the U.S. House of Representatives, Republican Tom Davis. Not the least of Hurst's problems is that Davis, after 12 years in Congress and 13 years as a member and chair of the county Board of Supervisors, is very well known and has an excellent record of service.

The Washington Examiner
One of the savviest political tacticians in the county, 11th District Rep. Tom Davis is a moderate Republican who worked his way up from Mason District supervisor and chairman of the Fairfax County Board to become one of the most powerful members of Congress. He chairs the Government Reform Committee, which, earlier this year, released a scathing indictment of the federal government's performance during Hurricane Katrina. So much for being the Bush rubber-stamp Democratic challenger Andrew Hurst claims he is.

AFTER SIX terms in Congress representing Northern Virginia's 11th District, Rep. Thomas M. Davis III , a one-man political whirlwind, is a force to be reckoned with. Energetic, practical and astute, he is a deal-maker's deal-maker who has used his considerable clout as chairman of the House Government Reform Committee to good effect.
